Bloody hell, these are phenomenal. I've had a bit of an iffy day, creatively speaking, and these are a big inspiration to keep going on. The horse and rider in the second pic is just too much, man :)
As for for stylistic direction in this episode--it was sort of Genndy pushing my comic inking style more expressive, mixed with a little Lone Wolf and Cub Manga inspiration...and viola, the Demon Horse was created.
