Each book comes with a sketch on the inside cover.

SAMURAI JACK ISSUE FIVE COVER...

The road to the final cover was sort of different, from start to finish. Sort of. Still the same general layout--only my pallet changed quite a bit. I wanted to highlight the end of the "THREADS OF TIME" storyline finale, thinking the golden hues showcased that--but ultimately didn't feel it lent itself to the gravitas of the Aku showdown in this issue, hence the much darker tone in the final version of the cover to #5.

I AM DOING A 1983 COMIC IN 2014...

I recently teased a sampling of art on a website created by myself, Homestar Runner's Matt Chapman and an incredible logo designed by Jeff Simms. It's called COSMICSCOUNDRELS.COM and my hope for the new year is that you go check it out--and do so as often as possible, as new art, story and other surprises will be added continuously. It's something that we've been working on in our spare-spare time for a few years now. It's the culmination of our collective love of 70s to mid 1980s sci-fi (that of our impressionable youth)--and our desire for a purely creative outlet. This format will also provide an all new way to tell a story, or stories, as it were.

Matt and I have contemplated crowd funding, or other attempts to make this more of a priority, but as of yet, we aren't asking for anything more than word-of mouth viewership and promotion.

Once again, the site is called COSMICSCOUNDRELS.COM

Check it out, click around and let us know what you think!

SAMURAI JACK ISSUE FOUR ON SHELVES JANUARY 22ND!

In anticipation, I am posting both the rough cover sketch and the final cover.

Pick it up next week and let me know what you think, as this issue was a personal best for me--in my humble opinion. And check back because I will start showing some rough designs, color scripts and pages as we get closer to Wednesday.

ALSO: Have you been to COSMICSCOUNDRELS.COM yet?? More about that later as well!
