Out in stores now: JACK KIRBY COLLECTOR #52... This is quite possibly, the coolest thing that's ever happened to me! What an honor, what a thrill! And I'm equally proud to share the pages with JERSEY GODS co-creator and artist, DAN McDAID.
I always reckon the Kirby love pours out from the work of both you and Dan, but neither of you actually draw anything like him. Yeah, sure you both use the odd Kirby trope or effect, but neither of you try to cop his style the way so many have in the past.
THANK YOU, Mark. I hope I didn't come off like too much of a snob, siting my various influences; but hopefully you can see through my drawing building blocks and shapes, circles, let's say--vs. "squared-off" fingers.
Aye, thanks for that Mark. We're definitely moving in the same circles as the King, but doing different stuff. I know I'm definitely moving into Robbins territory as I get on...
And Andy - how cool is this? Adam really wrote the hell out of this feature, didn't he?
